Governor John Carney recently appointed Dorrell Green to lead the Department of Education’s new Office of Improvement & Innovation. Green is a long-time Delaware educator and assistant superintendent (Title 1 and Elementary Division) of the Brandywine School District. He previously taught for 19 years at Bancroft Elementary, Stubbs Elementary, Bayard Middle, and Harlan Elementary.
He has dedicated his professional life to mentoring, educating, coaching, and supporting children in the City of Wilmington. Green also serves as a board member of United Way of Delaware, Prevent Child Abuse of Delaware Ambassador, member of the CDC Community Advisory Council, and basketball and leadership development coach with William T. McLaughlin Foundation’s DreamChasers Youth Basketball Program. He also served on the board of Rose Hill Community Center.
