Jon Cooper
Jon Cooper has worked continually in the field of education in Delaware continually since 1998, initially as a School Psychologist for the Colonial School District for 10 years. During that time, he also worked as an adjunct instructor in the School of Education at the University of Delaware, teaching courses in the Graduate School of Education. In 2009, he was named Delaware School Psychologist of the year by the DE Association of School Psychologists (DASP).
Since 2009, he has served as a district-level administrator for Colonial, first as the Director of the Division of Student Services, then as the Founding Director of the Division of Health and Wellness. He also supported the establishment of the first Elementary Wellness Center in the State of Delaware at Eisenberg Elementary, which also led to him serving as President of the Delaware School Based Health Alliance since 2019. Jon has participated in the development and implementation of two Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) demonstration grants totaling over 10 million dollars and has worked to support the implementation of district-wide Social Emotional Learning (SEL). Starting in 2020, he has served as the Vice President of the New Castle County Consortium, which provides governance for the provision of Alternative Educational Programs for public school students in New Castle County. His current title is Director of Health and Wellness.
